I’ve been working on my constructed language recently, so it’s about time to post this link from the livejournal conlangs community. But for a better list of references I recommend wikipedia, especially Essays on Language Design.

Here are some fun and interesting linguistics links I found, starting from this LJ post by Suzette Haden Elgin: Phonosemantic Coherence in English Assonances is an intriguing list of correlations between meaning and initial consonant clusters; How to Make a Linguistic Theory should be titled How Not to Make a Linguistic Theory; and the Chomskybot will make your theory for you.

Suzette Haden Elgin has posted her glossary story, “Tale in Twelve Terms”, to her LiveJournal.

Suzette Haden Elgin has been posting about what sf poetry is and isn’t. I enjoyed her doggerel, though I think I wasn’t supposed to:
